Effectiveness of Paraeducators on Improving Student Outcomes

The 2017 Washington State Legislature directed WSIPP to complete a study on the effectiveness of paraeducators on improving student outcomes in Washington State. The study must examine the variation in use of paraeducators across public schools and districts and analyze whether, and to the extent, that any differences in students' academic progress can be attributed to the use of paraeducators. The study will also include a review of the national research literature on the effectiveness of paraeducators on improving student outcomes.

The report is due to the legislature by December 15, 2017.
