Children’s Mental Health Evidence-Based Practices Pilot
The 2007 Legislature directed the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services to establish the Thurston-Mason Children’s Mental Health Evidence-Based Practice Pilot Project (the Pilot) to provide evidence-based mental health services to children. The Legislature also directed the Institute to evaluate the effects of the Pilot on child mental health, criminal, welfare, and other outcomes. In April 2009, the Institute completed a report describing the first 114 children enrolled in the first evidence-based program selected by the pilot (Multi-systemic Therapy). Future reports are to be determined.
